A lot of people come to me after a session somewhere else left them feeling rushed — like they were just checking a box. That's not how I work. I'm Crystal Poole, and family sessions are some of the most meaningful work I do.
I build in enough time for kids to warm up, for everyone to settle into the space, and for the real moments to happen instead of forcing them. The kid who won't sit still, the in-between moments, the way your family actually laughs and leans on each other — that's what I'm here for.

Sessions can happen at a park, a favorite outdoor spot, your home, or downtown Grand Rapids — wherever feels most like your family. I keep a running list of go-to locations and I'm happy to make suggestions.
Questions & Answers
It depends on your family size, how many locations or outfits you want, and how much time you'd like. Mini sessions work well for quick, simple updates. Standard sessions are my most booked option and give a nice balance of time and flexibility. Premium sessions are great if you want more variety — two locations or an outfit change. If you're unsure, just reach out and I'll help you decide.
I'm happy to send styling guidance once you book, but in general: coordinated (not matchy-matchy) colors and comfortable clothing that feels like your family tend to photograph the best.
Not at all. I plan sessions around real movement and real personalities, not forced posing. Some of the best images come from kids running, playing, or just being themselves.
Yes. Each package includes a set group size, and the Extended Family add-on covers additional family members beyond that for $20 per person.
The Premium package includes a second location or one outfit change. If you want both, you can add the other as an add-on to your package.
All three packages include unlimited images delivered through your private online gallery, along with a print release so you can print and share them freely.
Yes. The first 60 miles are included with every session. Beyond that, additional mileage is billed at $0.70 per mile.
The answer is always yes! Furry companions are absolutely part of the experience. Just let me know ahead of time so we can make sure everything is set up perfectly.
Family sessions — especially during fall and the holiday season — tend to book up quickly. I'd recommend reaching out as early as you can to lock in your preferred date and time.
